Download and use this Lenten calendar in the way most appropriate for your ministry setting. Here are a few ideas:

• Print the calendar on the front and back of one sheet of paper, OR print the calendar on two sheets of paper and have children glue both pages on a large sheet of construction paper.
• Provide stickers for the children to place on the calendar after completing each day’s activity, OR have the children color in each day using a crayon or marker.
• Encourage children to invite their entire family to complete the daily activities with them during Lent.

On the first day of Christmas…

• Light a candle in celebration of the one whose birth we celebrate today – Immanuel, God with us.
• Read Luke 2:1-20.
• Share one way that you are reminded God is with you.
• Pray: Loving God, today we remember and celebrate the birth of Jesus. We thank you for the first Christmas gift, this little baby boy who grew up and changed everything. Help us to be aware of your presence with us always. Amen.
• Sing or listen to a Christmas song. One possibility: “O Come, O Come Emmanuel”.
