Ideas for celebrating 350 Day in your congregation

1. Ring your church bell 350 times to draw attention to the monumental nature of the problem.
2. Get 350 congregants together for a photo. Arrange yourself into the number 350 in your church parking lot.
3. Put together a team of youth or young adults who are trained to weatherize houses or install products to reduce energy and resources (e.g. low flow shower heads, flourescent bulbs) for elderly members or low-income residents in the community. Encourage them to each volunteer at least 350 minutes of time.
4. Write 350-word letters to the editor of your local newspaper about Christianity and ecology.
5. Gather congregation members and collect 350 pounds of trash from streets, ditches, parking lots, parks, and so on to beautify the community.
6. Get a local T-shirt shop to donate shirts that can be sold at a cost of just $3.50 each, or learn how to screen print your own shirts. Use the funds for a community garden or park project.
7. Encourage congregation members to consume just 350 calories on October 24th, and share what they would have spent on food with a sustainable farming project connected with your denomination.
