On the brink of Holy Week
I anticipate the excitement,
confusion, disappointment,
fear, anger, sorrow and joy
to come with the remembrance
of past events.
About to fall forward,
I pull myself back and
remind myself to
experience the journey
as it is remembered.
On the brink of the future
I anticipate the challenges,
celebrations, decisions,
difficulties, successes and failures
that are sure to be a part
of life unfolding.
Tempted to fall into the
chasm of “what if…”
I choose instead to
take the bridge of possibility
and be present on the journey.
