Along with many others around the world, I had the joy of watching the presidential inauguration this morning. After the ceremony, I found my head and heart full of emotion and many words, some of which begged to be let out! I am sure that there will be many things written about and in response to the inauguration of Barack Obama. Here I offer up my two cents worth.

My Response
Written January 20, 2009

I am grateful to be watching a historic inauguration.
I am in awe of the efforts of many that make this moment possible.
I am proud to play a part in my own way.
I am mindful of the challenges that lie ahead.
I am hopeful we can unite and work together.

I am grateful for sacrifices made to pave the way for this day.
I am in awe of individuals and organizations that work for justice.
I am proud of our country and its forty-fourth president.
I am mindful of those who doubt.
I am hopeful that doubt can be overcome.
