The heavens are telling the glory of God;
and the firmament proclaims his handiwork.
Day to day pours forth speech,
and night to night declares knowledge.
There is no speech, nor are there words;
their voice is not heard;
yet their voice goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.
(Psalm 19:1-4, NRSV)
The almost-full moon shining brightly, illuminating a few wispy clouds.
Snow that fell during the night, transforming the world with its whiteness.
Powerful wind gusts making it a struggle to move forward.
Pine trees, taller than my house, bending with the wind.
Crocus persistently pushing their way upward, peeking through snow.
Brilliant sunshine streaming in my window warming the sleeping cat.
Cleansing rain gently falling then arriving in torrents.
Naked trees standing proudly, awaiting leaves which will soon clothe them.
God’s glory is on tour in the skies,
God-craft on exhibit across the horizon.
Madame Day holds classes every morning,
Professor Night lectures each evening.
Their words aren’t heard,
their voices aren’t recorded,
But their silence fills the earth:
unspoken truth is spoken everywhere.
(Psalm 19:1-4, The Message)
