There are many wonderful resources that are especially well-suited for progressive churches, but so far there are no catalogs that pull all of these resources together. And, since many of the more progressive companies do not have advertising budgets the size of publishing behemoths like Zondervan or LifeWay, you may never have heard of some of the great sources out there. In this 3-part series, we'll point you to some of these lesser-known alternatives.

Although it is the beginning of the calendar year, the Sunday School year is well underway. During this time between Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter, attendance in Sunday School classes sometimes lags. I hope that you routinely evaluate and assess your ministries with regards to accessibility and openness to persons with special physical and/or emotional needs. Are your programs also inclusive of persons with different learning styles?

What topics would be covered in an ideal teacher training session or series? The answer to this question could be lengthy! One topic that would make my list is an overview of multiple intelligence theory – a valuable addition to any teacher training.
